Let's be honest, it's a bit jialat up here. So we started a kampung: a place for Singaporeans in the Nordics to feel anchored, share our culture, and pass it on to our kids.
Born out of love for Singapore. Run by volunteers in Oslo. Free to join, for now.
Singapore Nordic Network was formed to build a kampung for fellow Singaporeans living far from home. We want to help each other feel anchored, emotionally and culturally, and to build a Nordic network and awareness of Singaporean culture and identity.
Bring Singaporeans and friends of Singapore together, so nobody has to feel like the only one in the room who misses kaya toast.
Show the Nordics what Singapore is about: our food, our films, our stories and our very own way of speaking.
Help our children, growing up in snow and midnight sun, know where their parents come from and be proud of it.
You moved up north for love, work or study, and you still check the weather in Singapore. This is your kampung.
Your partner, your family, or a good chunk of your life is Singaporean. You are one of us. Bring the kids.
You have heard about the food, the films, or the little red dot itself and want to know more. Welcome, we like you already.
By coming to events, and inviting your friends, you are helping to build the community. That is really all it takes.

The Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveys an invitation to attend a Reception for the Singaporean Community in Sweden hosted by Singapore's Ambassador to Sweden Andrew Kwan on 18 October 2026. Our Guest of Honour will be President Tharman Shanmugaratnam.
Given venue constraints, requests to bring non-Singaporean accompanying guests will only be considered if they are immediate family members (spouse/parents/children). This is to allow as many Singaporeans as possible to attend the event.
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and will close once maximum capacity has been reached. For any queries, contact the representative, Leo, at leo_wattanapon_tunsaringkran@mfa.gov.sg.
Our biggest initiative so far. Two days of Singaporean cinema, food and family activities in Oslo, run by the same volunteers behind this network.
The festival is born out of love and passion for Singapore. We want:
We're just getting started, so membership is free. By coming to events, and inviting your friends, you are helping to build the community and improving the Nasi Lemak situation in the Nordics.
We're still learning what our community needs. If you would like to take the leap and organise an initiative, get in touch. We can help with resources. We're especially keen on:
Every kroner counts and helps towards the running costs of the association! Thank you in advance.
Subscribe and we'll let you know about our activities. No spam, only makan, movies and the occasional kebaya.
